Sheriff Trace Hendricks, Game Wardens, the Adventures with Purpose crew, and more joined to tow up vehicles from the bottom of Lake Whitney. In this episode, we’ll head to the Meridian Civic Center several hours ago. Family members, the Bosque County Sheriff’s Office, Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, city employees, and more joined to honor Wayne Nowell, better known as butch. Pastor Tater Paschall of the Bosque County Cowboy Church officiated, opening with a prayer. Afterward, a letter from Butch’s wife Lucy, was read to the crowd. The Fort Worth Police Honor Guard participated, and the ceremony was complete with "Taps" on trumpet and a bagpipe rendition of "Amazing Grace." In this episode, you'll hear from many we encountered on the Clifton Chamber of Commerce's Norwegian Country Christmas Tour. We stopped at every location this year in an attempt to find more history and capture some of what makes this annual event in Bosque County memorable each year. The Bosque Museum with Erin Shields and Bosque Arts Center with Linda Pfeiffer were our first stops, on the backstory of their Christmas exhibits this year. We caught up with Jamie Flanagan and Lee Collier at the Valley View House. Both Hank Dawson of Dawson Farms at the Switching House and Sidney Carlisle at the Pederson Home talked the history behind their structures. You'll hear from Mark Varhaug and Debbie Ferguson, both presidents of the Norwegian Society of Texas and Bosque County Genealogical Society, respectively. We caught up with a Ringness Family member at the Ringness House Museum. You'll hear from Clifton ISD's Elementary Honors Choir at the Rock Church, and some awesome history from Pastor Bill Metting and a congregation member at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Norse. In this episode, you’ll hear from Interim Clifton Police Chief Gage Guinn about the recent attempted burglary at the tail end of November. The Bosque County Sheriff's Office and Clifton Police responded to the incident, and Sheriff Hendricks even weighed in on why a local pharmacy was targeted. We talked to Dana Chastain about the live nativity coming up at Immanuel Lutheran Church, in which five scenes are being added to this awesome production this year. It's a little bit like a combination of a drive-in movie and live-action play on 15 stages. Then it’s off to the Frazier Performance Hall for the Handel’s Messiah. President Donna Jarman of the Bosque Civic Music Association dedicated the performance to Joy Williamson and Steve Watson. David Anavitarte explained a little history of "Messiah" before the show started. Then, it was sweet, sweet music. We've got news briefs about upcoming events in Valley Mills, a parade and fundraiser hosted by West Shore VFD, and big plans for a market at the Bosque County Cowboy Church this weekend. We caught up with Ronnie Ringness of the Ringness House Museum, Sidney Thomason of the Cranfills Gap Chamber of Commerce on the Pederson House, and Pastor Bill Metting of our Saviors Lutheran Church in Norse. We find the real meaning behind gardening in the process. We also talk with Bryan Davis and David Anavitarte of the Bosque Chorale about the upcoming concert at the Frazier Performance Hall. Some of Handel’s "Messiah" will be performed, in honor of two founding members of the chorale. We look at the history of "Messiah," as well as a little bit of the folklore behind it.
