Three Questions With...

Today I am at the CanConnect2019 Conference in Niagara Falls and I am giving a presentation on how to use podcasting in the classroom. Anne Treschak volunteered to be interviewed and took the time to share her passions about education. She also wants everyone to make it out to Beamsville District Secondary School to see their presentation of Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory this weekend.

Today I interviewed Peter Beens about his passions. We were at the OSSTF Embracing Technology Conference today.

The 4th interview in a series from the YRDSB EdCamp. This time I interview Joanna Bull and we discuss the idea of Improvisational PD. A great concept and easily something to get people our of their seats and participating in their own learning.

This is the 3rd in a series from the YRDSB EdCamp. This time I am speaking with Jen Giffen one of the organizer of the event and Digital Literacy Resource Teacher with the York Region District School Board. Jen and I have know each other for a while and we have some fun talking about our passions.

I have met Kevin Brookhouser a few times and he never ceases to amaze me with his ideas and enthusiasm. Over the weekend I had a chance to attend the YRDSB EdCamp and I met some of my favourite education podcasters. I was walking through the lobby of the hotel and heard my name being called. It was Stephen and several of his colleagues from Northern Ontario. We have been Twitter friends for some time and this was our first chance to chat face to face. I also thought it was a good time to interview Stephen and have him share some of the great things going on in Northern Ontario.

Megan is an Australian who has made a home here in Canada. I met up with Megan at the CanConnect Conference in Niagara Falls this spring and took the opportunity to interview her. Have listen and learn about Megan's involvement with TEDed and her awesome project.

Today I interviewed a friend and frequent collaborator, Jane Mitchinson. We spoke about fake news, journalism, and axe throwing. Have a listen and find out more about how media is becoming more important in how we view world events.

Today I interviewed Alison Bullock (@aliringbull) over breakfast. We talked about her passions and she taught me that knitting was 11th century coding. I always learn something from Alison, have a listen and you might too.

Over the Christmas Holidays, I had a chance to travel to London, Ontario to enjoy a Brunch with some of the inspirational educators in the TVDSB. In this interview I had an opportunity to speak to Lisa Floyd (@lisaannefloyd) who is doing some amazing things in the area of Computational Thinking and Coding with students.

This is the last in a series of interviews I conducted over the Christmas Holidays in London, Ontario with some of the inspirational educators in the TVDSB. In this interview I had an opportunity to speak to Derek Tangredi (@dtangred) who has a background in Engineering and has pioneered the Maker Movement into his teaching.

Over the Christmas Holidays, I had a chance to travel to London, Ontario to enjoy a Brunch hosted by David Carruthers (@pluggedportable) who is a Technology Coordinator with the TVDSB. During that time we shared some excellent food and conversation. This is the first in a series of interviews with some of the inspirational educators in which I had an opportunity to speak with. In this interview David discusses the power of Social Media.

CATC by the Water is a WRDSB Professional Development retreat for teachers to work with other teachers to develop and refine good pedagogical practice. My second interview at CATC by the Water was with Jamie Reaburn Weir (@msjweir) who is the Head of English at a High School in Cambridge Ontario. Jamie explained to me her passion about collaborative learning.

CATC by the Water is a WRDSB Professional Development retreat for teachers to work with other teachers to develop and refine good pedagogical practice. My first interview at CATC by the Water is Herman Kwan (@educatorkwan) who is trained as an Engineer and teaches both Math and Physics. I was really impressed with Herman's joy for learning and his love of popular culture.

At the end of the first day of CATC by the Water I caught up with Donna Miller Fry (@fryed). We spoke about technology and education. As well as how the world is changing and that as educators, we need to be looking at ways to prepare students where Info Tech is going to be very important.
