Please welcome to the podcast International Artist XY. She graduated from Coventry University in the UK with a Masters in Animation. Now residing in Shanghai China, she specialises in installation art, independent illustration, graffiti, 3d modelling, sculpture and digital art. Her style has been described as Cyber Pop. Her art has been featured all over the world including - "Give Peace a Chance" is on display at Your mother Gallery in Singapore, Artavers Hong Kong large-scale outdoor art exhibition and "HOW TO DREAM" was exhibited at the British Automobile Museum. Since 2016 she has worked with brands- Levis, Nike, China's Li-Ning, Peacebird, Jaguar. The colours that she uses really capture the eye for the viewer and my personal favourite is her animation of Albert Einstein. He is one of main musician in the Shanghai music scene. He formed the Foo Fighters tribute band Faux Fighter and toured internationally. Currently on a promotional tour in China, I was lucky enough to sit down with the very popular Serbian Cellist Jela Cello. Seeing her perform in Shanghai that night was an amazing experience. Right from a young age, Jela was the top students in Belgrade and won numerous awards, being titled the best student of her generation. She was awarded the Golden Shield and Golden Charter awards for her contributions to Cultural and Educational Community for Serbia. Her album Clash was released in 2012 and featured a composition of Jimi Hendrix "Purple Haze" and as of today has had 1.5 million downloads on Youtube (which you can hear at the start of the podcast).. She formed a 60 piece Orchestra called "Jela Cello Power Symphony Orchestra". She has collaborated with front man of Journey Arnel Pineda recording the Christmas Dreams album. Billy was born in Cessnock Australia and he played Rugby League for the Cessnock Goanna's with NRL Immortal Andrew Johns and his brother Australian Rep player and TV Personality Matty Johns.. He played for the Newcastle Knights NRL team from 1994- 2002, playing 190 games. Billy won 2 Premierships in 1997 and again in 2001, scoring 2 tries in that game. He then moved to England to play with the London Broncos. He has also been the Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Newcastle Knights. Billy is the ambassador for the Mark Hughes Foundation for research into Brain Cancer.
