What if I'm a boring person - Part 2

3/26/2021
Group discussions are always intimidating. You need to captivate more people, be louder and be more energetic. Have you ever felt that you were the silent one in a group discussion? Have you felt that you want to speak up but something just stops you? What is it? What could it be? In this 2-part series, we answer a question on a Reddit thread at r/socialskills about the fear of being "boring". The original post on the thread had posted the following question: The main reason I don't talk much with other people isn't because I don't want to, but because I don't' know what to say. When I start to talk with someone, I realize that my life is pretty boring. I have nothing interesting to say to the other person and my brain just freezes. My friends are out there doing stuff and all I can say is that I read books and play video games. I really want to be more talkative but I don't know what to say to people. When other people say something, it comes out so naturally. I'm not able to make any deep friendships because of this. Everyone else is more funny and interesting than I am. I don't know what to do. Tune in and let's address this fear of being "boring"! Topics Discussed: - Involving yourself in a group discussion - Reacting to the 'quite one' in the group Tune in and soak in your conversation nuggets!
