Scott T. Smith is a singer/songwriter with boundless vocals accompanied by his rootsy acoustic guitar. His songs set the stage for cinematic reflections that perfectly compliment a heartland road trip. Growing up in Hurricane, West Virginia, he made the move to Louisville to further his musical inspiration and develop as an artist. He has released the EP, Wanted Man and appears on the Lift Up Louisville single that features over twenty artists with ties to the Louisville music scene. Taylor Shuck, a Nashville based artist, hails from Louisville, KY. His songwriting and musicianship skillfully blends banjo with a vast array of music styles including Bluegrass, Jazz, Funk, and Classical music. Taylor has performed with local and national artists including Tiffany Williams, Nicholas Jamerson (Sundy Best), Hillhouse, and Mama Said String Band. Earnest has been teaching with Musicians Mobile for over three years. He believes in smart practice habits to maximize time and effort with a lesson plan that engages students in a fun and exciting way. In addition to classical music, Earnest can play and teach R&B, pop, top 40, Broadway, and Disney songs. Earnest began studying music and playing the piano at the age of three. He has studied music at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, University of Pacific, and San Jose State University, where he earned a B.M. in Piano Performance. Mahika received home music lessons with us for many years on piano and guitar with her instructor Jared. She showcased her fantastic talent at numerous recitals and rock band events. She applied herself to seeking out bigger stages for sharing her joy of music at times, performing in front of hundreds of people. We are excited for her as she heads off to college and begins the next chapter in her growth. She acquired a wealth of experience that she shares in this episode to help the next generation of students. Esha K. started with Musicians Mobile at the age of nine. She developed her skills with voice, guitar, piano, and drums during her time with us. I started teaching home guitar lessons to Sidart and his brother Pranav when Sidart was eight years old in Cupertino, California. 🏡🎸 Along with his family, we shared so many incredible memories of musical performances at our recitals and lessons. I introduced them to learning the guitar, and they introduced me to butter chicken. 🤣 Neither of us has been the same since! They were a tremendous influence on our school since it's inception. I am grateful to have them as friends to this day. 🙏 Playing music is one of the best ways to make new friends, and that will serve as a throughline in this episode. - It can be hard to move to a new place in your teen years. When Sidart moved to Austin, Texas as a teenager, he used his guitar skills as a bridge to forming new relationships. He quickly met other musicians at school, and they had a common bond to share. He started a band and became active in his community with music as his anchor point. - Sidart did not start off as a musical prodigy or a student who practiced countless hours. In the beginning, his mother did need to encourage him quite a bit to practice. If my memory serves me correct it wasn't until after about 3 or 4 years that he reached an inflection point where he truly took ownership of his journey and practice. He started to see that playing an instrument is much more exciting if you do the practice. He started to see the fruits of his labor. Since that point, no one needs to motivate him. Nalin Krishnan was a Musicians Mobile student for many years, starting at around six years old. We have many fond memories of him performing at our recitals and rock band shows singing along to his guitar. He started off playing rock and is now exploring the softer sides of music his acoustic guitar. - As a recent High School graduate, he is ready to head off to college to study Data Science. You can be sure he will be packing his guitar with him in the next stages of his journey. - He plans to start bands and collaborate with other musicians to play for enjoyment as a creative outlet.
