Episode 4 of Season 2 of 𝐀𝐃𝐎𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐯𝐞 Podcast is here! Today Bishop Shane chats with Kaite Burkholder Harris, the Executive Director for the Alliance to End Homelessness Ottawa. Bishop Shane then travels to the undercroft of Christ Church Cathedral Ottawa to meet up with some of our wonderful Diocesan Staff: -Dr. Glenn Lockwood, Diocesan Archivist, and -Heidi Fawcett, Diocesan Social Media Coordinator.

In this episode Bishop Shane hears of how our Director of Financial Ministry, Sanjay Grover, journeyed from his childhood in India to Ottawa, via Montreal, Northern Ontario, the GTA, Atlanta and Nunavut; and his experience with First Nations, Inuit and racism along the way. Today, Bishop Shane travels down by the St Lawrence Seaway, to speak with folks from The Anglican Parish of South Dundas about their outreach ministries. This visit is rounded off with a musical interlude on the rectory porch with the Reverend Dr Jon Martin and his band, West of the Rock. Following the musical interlude, Bishop Shane visits with Sharon York, Executive Director of The Ottawa Pastoral Counselling Centre. While this is the last episode of Season One, we will be back with Season Two this Fall!

Bishop Shane visits St. Paul's Anglican Church to speak with the Reverend Canon John Bridges from about being Chaplain to the Fire Department. His tour of our Diocese then brings him to a raised-bed garden in North Gower to talk about veggies and ministry with the Reverends Carolyn Seabrook & Al Budzin, along with the wonderful folks from Anglican Parish of South Carleton: Bringing Faith to Life.

This week’s podcast begins with a chancel chat in our cathedral about choirs and singers in pandemic times, followed by a beautiful Mendelssohn aria, and a thoughtful conversation with the Suburban Vicar about church as a valuable “third space” in the communities we serve.
