Monitoring the physical condition of our hearts is important, but what about the spiritual condition of our hearts? As it turns out, both the physical and emotional health of our hearts have a common adversary— our appetites. Only two words exist in the language of appetites: MORE and NOW, especially when it comes to how we view money and possessions. Jesus has a different perspective. He encourages us not to store up our treasures on earth, but instead to store our treasures in heaven. There is a very real battle between what we want now and what we want most, and we have a choice to make—will our hearts be set on NOW or LATER?

Monitoring the physical condition of your heart is important, but what about the spiritual condition of your heart? In Matthew 15:10-20, Jesus teaches that it’s the words we say that reveals what is in our hearts. Monitoring the nature of your own words can actually help us monitor the condition of our hearts. Just Jesus

For most of us our "To Do" list is always bigger than our "To Be" list. WHAT we do matters more to us than WHO we are... until a crisis enters our life and a flaw is exposed. The author of Hebrews in chapter 3 gives us three "Axioms" or rules of life to live by which surprisingly leads us to live to a bold and blessed life. Join us Sunday as we get challenged by these "axioms" and begin to measure from these truths where we are in our walk with God.

Hebrews 2:10-16 Title: The Restoration Work of Jesus, Part 2 The author of the book of Hebrews knew his Old Testament theology. He knew that starting with Adam and his decedents that we would all try rule and reign over some area of our life... seek to be the best spouse, or parent or excel in our place of employment. And while there have been moments... eventually we all struggle in on or more key areas of our life. This stuggle in life is one of the key reasons Jesus came... so that he could restore our ultimate calling and purpose of why God created us! The author of the Hebrews starts his book answering the question... if it's all about Jesus how can our relationship with him restore some broken areas in our life?

Passage: Hebrews 1:1-13 Title: The God of Angel Armies If ever there was a greater being than man himself, it would be in the angelic world. All of our lives we have been facinated by super heroes, miracle stories, angel sitings and may even have dabbled in fortune telling and ouija boards. Most religions have an "angelic being" responding with greater revelation. It is natural for our human nature to long for something greater in the spiritual world. Come Sunday and learn why Just Jesus is all you need for your answers to the question regarding what the spiritual world is all about.

Often in life we get so busy, preoccupied and distracted that we forget what really matters in life and in the afterlife. Yet in those moments in solemn solitude when we pause and reflect what really makes a difference, we conclude it's Just Jesus. Why? Because is the ultimate model of how to live for today, how to live despite our sin and how to keep pressing on and be "successful at life" is Jesus... Just Jesus! Join us in this series in the book of Hebrews as we learn to live "Jesus Jesus" in the present so that He in turn will impact our future.

It's been said that "If Jesus isn’t the center of your world you will put something else in his place." The things that you replace Jesus with will let you down and not last forever. C.S. Lewis has said "The first step towards hell is pride. The first step towards Heaven is humility. Pride is the national religion of hell!" The problem with pride is that we just can't "sniff it out"! It's like bad breath, everyone know you've got a problem except for yourself! Come and learn how the pride that so easily slips into our lives can be eradicated by a simple humble heart of serving others!

As Christians it is so easy to follow exactly the way the world does things. Our kids even say "Well everyone else is doing it!" The iron is that often as children of God we say the same statement to God himself! We chase after power, pleasure, & popularity to fill a hole in our soul that we know will not last. In our world today, the most tempting solution for happiness comes in the form of money. We literally "buy into the lie" that the more we have the happier we will become. Listen & learn the dangers of this lie and discover the ironic truth of what will really make you fulfilled in life!

When we hear the word "idol," many of us think of a statue that one worships and/or reminds them of a great religious leader. In ancient times, Kings were thought of as gods and insisted their people make worship icons in their own image. Today our idols are more subtle. They are packaged in who we are, what we do, what we spend and the things that give us the greatest pleasure. The Bible surprisingly teaches that while God commands we don't make up statues of who he is he has provided an image of himself. We are that image! And when we are spirit filled, his glory shines for all to see.

Anytime the rich & famous make their presence known to our town it's done with press releases, ads and lots of marketing through social media. Rarely do the rich and famous make appearances in a quiet normal way. How much more did the God of the universe deserve fanfare at His coming! But Christ didn’t arrive with a Kings entrance of pomp and circumstance. He didn’t demand an announcement for the whole world to hear, though He deserved it. Jesus arrived in the most humble way possible — as a baby. Come let us adore him on our Christmas Eve services.

The Brits say "Happy Christmas!," in Mexico you say "Feliz Navidad" & in America you say "Merry Christmas". And while this season definitely can bring happiness and a merry heart, what most people are really looking for is that sustained feeling of when hope and peace come together in you one's heart. EVERYONE calls that moment JOY!! Listen in as we share the secret of how we all might experience a "Joyful Christmas" this year.

Peace... seems like everyone wants it but nobody has it! For the most part, there is an absence of peace all around us. Uncertainty, financial fear & people hating on each other are everywhere as we look in the increasingly unpredictable society we live in. The amazing truth is that this angst has always existed in the world with seemingly no great answer... UNTIL... an angel appeared to a Savior and proclaimed, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men!" Listen in as we learn why there is only one true Person that can really bring us peace.

On December 25th, we are reminded of the most important event in history, the birth of Jesus Christ. Even though society does its best to remove any reminders of His birthday. We instead, cloud them with traditions, parties, or gifts. We diminish the purpose of Christmas with fillers rather than fulfilling them with the most important point of it all, the birth of our Savior. This Christmas, let’s shift our focus from the conventional standards of what we believe Christmas should be like, and refocus on the gift that was given to us, that will forever change the importance of This Christmas.

Any time the world is full of angst, war and ugliness, there is no shortage of sensationalism. Even so, at times it seems there’s more confusion than clarity. But this is not the way God intended it.
