Were you glued to your TV cheering on Team Canada at the Tokyo Olympics? We were! What is it like to be an Olympian, play for Team Canada and win an Olympic medal? These are just some of the things we talk to Jane Kerr Thompson about. She is an Olympian who competed for Team Canada in both the 1984 summer games in Los Angeles and the 1988 games in Seoul Korea where she won a bronze medal in the relay. After her Olympic career Jane went to the University of Florida on a swimming scholarship. She was captain of the team and had many swimming successes during her college career and she graduated with a degree in finance. Today Jane is a Managing Director at Accenture. Jane gives us insight into what it takes to be an elite athlete. How much hard work does it take to become an Olympian? What are athletes feeling just before they walk onto the pool deck for a race? What does it feel like to stand on the podium for Canada? We also chat about what happens after the Olympics. How do athletes transition away from their sport?
