There are many disappointing movies out there and then there are movies that are just the worst but...sometimes it's not that simple. In fact, some terrible movies are more entertaining than good ones, so we decided to have an experiment based on a suggestion from one of our previous guests, Josef Wilke, where we recommend terrible films to each other that we enjoy because they are so bad, they are good to us. Who doesn't like a good Western? After our conversation last time about The Yellow Light Trilogy we were intrigued by another community proclaimed trilogy referred to as the 2007 Western Trilogy (There Will Be Blood, No Country For Old Men, and The Assassination of Jesse James). Sometimes Reddit REALLY comes through, especially in this case. The Yellow Light trilogy was nicknamed, we think, by a couple of people on reddit years ago. It consists of three movies that aren't actually a trilogy, but feel like they could be, and they feature crime neo noir plots with Los Angeles lights painting the background every step of the way. These lights help inform the cinematography, hence The Yellow Light Trilogy (Drive, Nightcrawler, and Collateral). In our first episode of SEASON 2 we dove into the Scream horror film franchise since the new film, Scream 5, hits theaters this Friday. We decided to re-watch all four of the scream films in order to prepare for the new movie. Wes Craven really brought this series to life so though we are excited about the new film, it's interesting to see where it will go now that he has unfortunately passed away.
