You've Got Burnout

4/29/2023
It feels good to be back, and there's a reason why episodes seemed to suddenly halt: In short, I'm experiencing some kind of burnout. In this episode, I share what I’m learning about the why and how of burnout. To be clear, I am not recording this from a place of overcoming burnout. Instead, I want to show the importance of hearing from someone when they're in the throes of an experience. It's easy to forget how difficult something was once we're on the other side of it, and those of us going through it cannot go through it alone. In the coming months, I'm going to be sharing a series of episodes that explore burnout and anxiety, particularly as they relate to those of us who have small businesses and are entrepreneurs. I hope to be in conversation with others going through this, as well as connect with practitioners who offer support to their clients and patients. In this episode, I discuss how I’m experiencing burnout, the three types of burnout I’m learning about, what the contributing factors were for me, and delve into my personal experience. Stepping Into Your True Identity with Jill Prescott

3/22/2023
Today, I am joined by Jill Prescott, who is what I like to call an ‘edge-walker,’ or someone who doesn’t follow the status quo. Her career began as a financial services manager in an automobile showroom and then drastically shifted to entrepreneurship in a wave of spirituality, a life-altering event, and stepping into her true identity. Like so many of us, Jill grew up inside the box of societal norms. She put on a performance in her relationships and career, but when she finally said goodbye to the things she thought made her life, she stepped into her calling and found a passion she could not live without. In our conversation, Jill illustrates the value of finding your identity and explains how taking time away from your business to pursue other interests actually helps you generate more income. Listen in as we discuss ways to navigate entrepreneurship and spiritual growth. Listen to the episode on Spotify, Amazon Music, or on your favorite podcast platform. What Happens If We Shift Our Relationship To The New Year

1/18/2023
Presence is more important than time. As we go into the new year, it is very easy to get lost in the shuffle of, “new year, new me.” Instead, what if we were to shift from having a new goal and a “clean slate,” to reflecting on the previous year and honing in on a standard practice or process? I like to think of goal setting as deciding to do something and then taking the steps to achieve it. And then ask myself, what works for me? What does consistency look like in achieving this goal? Listen in on today’s episode as I discuss why the process of working towards your goals, dreams, or plans is more important than the progress we make in reaching or completing them. I encourage you to explore your relationship with goal setting and to be curious about doing things differently. Listen to the episode on Spotify, Amazon Music, or on your favorite podcast platform. Why Stories Matter

12/28/2022
Storytelling is an invitation to connect with others. What a gift it is to share our experiences and adventures with another human being, and have an opportunity to track one another throughout time. As we end this year, let’s investigate: What story are you telling about this year? Who are the characters? What were the moments of rising and falling action? What genre are you living in? Listen in on today’s episode as I ask myself these same questions and I leave you with a question and invitation to share your answers with your customers, and me. How Landscape Informs Who I Am

12/21/2022
Welcome to my new podcast, This is Jennie Alexis, where I will be covering various topics all stitched into who I am and what I do. Some episodes will talk about business, others will be about the health and wellness industry, and some may even include personal writing excerpts. In this episode, I describe my origin and how the landscape around me as a child influenced my adult perspective. There’s a certain magic to watching a storm unfold in the distance as the sun still has something to say about where your feet stand. Just like the lessons I learned in winter, my goal here is to bring people into this podcast and foster a community out of likeness and connectivity. I’m glad you’re here. Procrastination and Discerning the Right Time

12/21/2022
Procrastination can be boiled down to the fear of accomplishing something, or is it more complex than that? In today’s episode, I want to open with a story of a woman who’s spent a good part of her adult life wishing, hoping, and thinking about all of the things that she'd wanted to do, make, build or create, but had not. We’ve often been taught and then believed we take up space in a negative way. Instead, let’s focus on feeling the boundaries of our physical space. Find the safety and the comfort it brings you when you feel the fullness of the edge of your skin. Listen in to explore your relationship with procrastination and why, even through the fear, you can begin. Topics Covered: Follow Me: WebsiteInstagramAbout Mehello@thisisjenniealexis.com
